'Was nice to catch up again Seamus, at The Blackthorn gig in Warrington,Pa.,this past Friday night. What a blast!
'Am enjoying "Four Cups of Coffee" CD immensely. 'Some real wicked electric guitar playing on this, Seamus, but I have to admit, I really like the acoustic material very much.
"Missing my Hometown" is pretty.
"Spanish Lady" is surprisingly refreshing and I can hear a little of Pete Hut.'s influence on this one.....:-)
I love your guitar work on "Aran"and "Corrina".....soothing instrumentals.
"Nashville Ceili Band" is probably my favorite of the CD..contains all the elements of good Irish music to my ears....:-)The guitar sounds great.
Peter Huttlinger did a fine job with production.
'Look forward to hearing more solo music from you and hopefully paths will cross again soon.
All the best,
Patty "Danaher"...:-)Lynch

Finally got my hands on "4 cups" through cdbaby. Enjoying it as I type. My favorites.
"Love my friend Ben" - is personal and has a Johnny Cash feel to it. Liked your
taste of "What's Going ON" for Donal. Enjoyed missing my hometown. Absolutely love "spanish lady" and Canned Heats "dust my blues" / broom ( CH and Rory got on well) Aran, September Skies & Nashville Ceili Band.
Celtic blues is the term I use for Rorys Irish interpretion of the blues. I loved WWW and what Donal did to show us Rory exploring his folk & Celtic roots.
Great cd Seamus!
Come visit in Longmeadow &
play at the Iron Horse in Northampton, Mass sometime You'll love it.

Seamus,
I had the opportunity to chat with you in Spring Lake, NJ and bought your CD. This is what I had planned to post at Amazon, but saw it was not available from their site. I thought that I'd share it here.
This CD is a wonderful personal statement. Each song seems to be played with a strong commitment to finding the heart of each piece; be it the outrageous title cut (4 cups of coffee, three shots of gin and two Irish whiskeys? Man I'm in pain just thinking about that combo.)or the tributes to lost friends, Seamus just brings so much emotional resonance to each song that if you have just a touch of empathy you'll feel it deep inside. Covering Rory Gallagher and Elmore James is no easy accomplishment either and Seamus acquits himself wonderfully well on these rocking blues covers.Instead of playing it safe with Celtic flavor throughout, Seamus touches on all his personal influences. An artist actually taking chances...how often does this happen? Do yourself a favor and get this CD.

Hi Seamus - just had a brain wave and googled you - great site!
As one who heard you play when you were young(er), raw and full of beans, it's great to see that you've succeeded in turning your great passion into your life.
You may not remember me clearly, but I'm the English guy (friend of Mike Reid's) that you auditioned as bassist (and quite understandably and reasonably rejected - I've avoided playing "All along the watchtower" ever since!) when you were putting 'Skull' together in Galway back in '71/'72.
I've heard a snippet of your tracks, and reckon I'll be downloading your great CD.
Best wishes for the future, and may your gods be with you. Kevin.
