Rory has had a huge influence on [...]]]> I recently came back from Ireland after attending the unveiling of a statue of Rory Gallagher in his native Ballyshannon. Many of you will already know that Rory was one of the world’s greatest guitar players. Sadly, he left us at the tender age of 47 in 1995. Rory has had a huge influence on my guitar playing over the years. More recently, I have come to appreciate that he was also a great songwriter. Just listen to his song “A Million Miles Away” and you will know exactly what I mean.

It has been a very busy year so far and it gets busier. Just got back from Nashville after recording several tracks for my new CD due out in the late fall. I worked with Pete Huttlinger who did a great job producing my last CD “Four Cups of Coffee.” Pete is a true genius and a blast to work with.

Blackthorn is busier than ever. We have some fun shows this summer. Check out Blackthorn to see the complete schedule. I look forward to doing some solo shows in the early fall to introduce songs from the new CD.
